Martin Sheen plays CIA chief Tom Highland who drags a retired CIA agent, Richard Gere’s Paul Shepherdson, out of retirement after a senator is killed in the same brutal manner as was done by a long missing Russian killer named Cassius.
Shepherdson is forced to team up with a young FBI agent, Topher Grace as Ben Geary, who studied the killer’s trademark tactics and thinks he knows everything there is to know about the mysterious Russian assassin. He doesn’t.
What follows is a confusing tale with murky unwarranted revelations that lead to a somewhat unsatisfying conclusion.
